MI Poder Regional Coordinator

MI Poder is seeking passionate, disciplined, relationship-driven Regional Coordinators to help build long-term Latino civic, cultural, and political power across Michigan. This role is central to MI Poder’s year-round organizing work and supports community leadership, voter engagement, policy advocacy, and regional power building.

Regional Coordinators lead field operations in assigned regions and help build the permanent civic infrastructure needed to strengthen Latino participation beyond any single election cycle. They recruit, train, and support organizers, volunteers, and trusted messengers; coordinate electoral and issue-based campaigns and help develop membership, and leadership pipelines.Theywill also play a critical role in supporting the success and long-term growth of the Michigan Latino Voter Project and statewide civic engagement efforts.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate regional organizing campaigns and field operations.
  • Recruit members into MI Poder’s statewide membership structure
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor Organizers, canvassers, volunteers, and trusted messengers.
  • Oversee canvassing, voter engagement, deep canvassing, phonebanking, texting, relational organizing, and turnout operations.
  • Support voter registration, persuasion, issue identification, and GOTV work.
  • Maintain daily accountability systems, reporting structures, and data quality standards.
  • Coordinate staging locations, turf distribution, and regional field logistics.
  • Support the growth of the Michigan Latino Voter Project through year-round outreach and leadership development.
  • Recruit and develop community leaders, volunteer captains, and trusted messenger networks.
  • Help establish and coordinate Regional Policy Committees and support community-driven advocacy.
  • Build relationships with local organizations, schools, unions, faith institutions, businesses, and community leaders.
  • Track and report on voter contact, membership growth, volunteer development, and regional benchmarks using tools such as VAN, EveryAction, ThruTalk/Text, and Google Sheets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to social justice, civic engagement, and community organizing.
  • Experience in organizing, advocacy, labor, electoral work, or leadership development preferred.
  • Experience supervising volunteers or organizing teams is preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Experience working with Latino, immigrant, Indigenous, bilingual, and/or working-class communities strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

What We Offer

  • Job Classification:, FLSA - Exempt position
  • Job Length: At-will┃Permanent Position
  • Compensation: Salary: $50,000- 52,000 annually.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours a week. Flexible schedule with evening and weekend responsibilities during campaign periods needed
  • Location: Hybrid in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Holland, Flint/Saginaw, Kalamazoo
